Unemployment, political corruption, health, education are issues of concern for them. Though students are very optimistic about the economic growth of the country, they are disappointed with the “political scenario”. But most of students think that information technology will help India attain a respectable position in Asia in the next ten years. Himadri Sen interviews some students and this is what they have to say:

Stevie D’Silva
MBA, MIM

In the next ten years, India will move ahead with high economic growth. Information technology will reach the masses and help them in their economic development. But, he is very pessimistic about the polity of the country. Red tapism in administration is the main obstacle for development of education and health, according to him.

Vinay Kamath

He is very optimistic about the development of information technology. But, he is also very concerned about unemployment. He is not at all satisfied with the economic and political development in India.

Abhishek
BBM, MIM

He is very hopeful about the industrial development in India in the next ten years. India has already achieved high success in information technology. He hopes that this success will transform into the development of health and primary education at the grassroots level. He also feels that the employment problem will be solved within the next five years.

Wilson Verghese,
TAPMI

He says, that India has a great future in industrial development. But he is also concerned about primary education and health conditions in the villages. In the next ten years, education should be the key component for development. Information technology will help develop education and health.

Shweta,
TAPMI

According to her, health and primary education should be the primary criteria for development. In the next ten years, the government should think about health and education as important issues. Information technology should not be given more emphasis than the education sector. It will help for development of education. From the point of the economy, tax problems and red tapism will be solved in the coming years. More deregulation in administration will be applied.
