Bag the Ibda’a Awards

A new platform has opened up for the students of media studies to show their creative talents in an international arena. Ibda’a i.e. creativity in Arabic is an award set up by Dubai media city to promote upcoming and undiscovered talents in the field of media.

Students from five countries namely United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Libya, Lebanon, and India and 52 universities and reputed institutes are participating in the contest.

Ten leading institutions and universities are participating for the awards from India, they include Film and Television Institute of India Pune, National Institute of Design Ahemdabad, Jawaharlal Nehru University Delhi, Manipal Institute of Communication Manipal, Mudra Institute of Communication and Advertising Ahemdabad to name a few.

The participants would be judged in the area of photography, radio magazine, graphic designing, journalism, advertising, filmmaking and TV documentary.

All the entries would be judged by the leading media personalities of the world and prizes include sponsored workshops and training programmes all over the world. Dubai Media City is spread over an area of 200 hectares of land, amidst some of the Dubai’s landmark projects. It is a leading center of media excellence in Middle East with over 50 media businesses.

Reuters, CNBC, MBC, LINTAS, rahbani productions etc are some of the leading organisation which form the part of the city. The city facilitates creativity and free expression by providing state-of-the-art production infrastructure.
