In India, DEMUs are manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai. The DEMUs have been designed by Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO), Lucknow and ICF jointly and they have been manufactured at ICF. Major equipment suppliers for ICF are:
