OUR METHOD OF PRODUCTION


We use the most popular method for large and medium batch production of accurate gears, which are used in automobiles and machines tools, i.e Gear Generation Method.

Here the gears undergoes several processes to ensure the production of the quality product. The best possible care is taken of all the factors contributing to the various gear errors during the production due to the different generating and feed motions.
Factors influencing accuracy of gears:

  1. Machine tool

    Static accuracy and dynamic rigidity of the machine tool influence the quality of the gears. Static accuracy of the machine can be determined by checking the geometrical accuracies and the allignments of the machine.

  2. Work Gear

    Good gears cannot be produced using poor quality blanks. Machinability of the material and accuracy of the blank as presented for machining have influence on the accuracy and surface finish of the component.

  3. Tooling

    Inaccurate or poorly designed fixtures and their effect on positioning, i.e, the run out of the location mandrel or bore w.r.t, work spindle and the squareness of the resting face with reference to locating diameter influence the work gear accuracy.

  4. Cutter

    In addition to the inherent accuracy of the cutter which should be at least two qualities finer than the quality of the work gear, the following points also influence the accuracy of the gear.

      Accuracy of mounting
      Sharpness of cutting edge
      Type of mounting and supporting of cutter

  5. Cutting Parameters

    The cutting parameters like cutting speed, rotary feed and numbers of cuts required to finish the work gear also influence the accuracy of the gear.

  6. Coolant

    Coolant is used to cool and lubricate the cutter. Direction, quality and specification of the cutting oil influence the surface finish of the gear and the life of the cutter.

  7. Skill and Care of the Operator

    Care is required on the part of the operator in clamping the gear, centering of the component when work steady is used, positioning the coolant nozzle, etc.
