We :
M/s Groundwater Consultants - a company engaged in various geological and hydrogeological activities in the hard
rock and alluvial areas. The company's propriter, Mr. B.T.Bhalerao(M.Sc. Geology, University
of Pune) specializes in Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology. He founded the company
after getting 10 years of experience in a Government agency that deals with hydrogeological
surveys and borewell drilling. He is supported by Dr. Era Bhalerao (M.Sc. Ph.D. Bombay University) and a team of highly qualified
geologists, who have ample experience in tackling problems from the field of geological and hydrogeological surveys and
allied services. Our experts have now been engaged in conducting groundwater surveys and water supply activities in various regions for the past
25 years. We mostly work in hard rock areas of India and in the coastal regions where
salinity is the main problem.
Scope of Services :
The main activities of M/s Groundwater Consultants are related to supply of water to all :
ranging from individual level to agricultural water supply, to meeting demands of industries etc.
We also provide Eco-friendly solutions to the many problems of people, so that they can solve
their problems and still be close to nature. We undertake the responsibility of conserving the
existing groundwater reserves by avoiding over-exploitation of water and by recharging the reserves
by various methods like augmentation of water etc. Salinity poses a major problem to people,
specially in coastal areas. There seems to be a belief that this problem cannot be tackled.
However, with the proper modern techniques, we have successfully solved such problems, too.
Drilling of borewells is now quite a well-known solution for water problems. However, we know that
" Water is everywhere, but not anywhere. "
So, we suggest scientific methods for exploration of water by drilling
borewells, tubewells, digging shallow open dugwells, digging field ponds, as per the conditions
prevalent in the area.
We understood the needs of our customers in various areas, and realised that some of them
faced the problems of depleting reserves of groundwater in their areas. We realised that the
solution of their problems is Artificial Recharge. So, we have developed various methods of
artificial recharge to be used in different regions, depending on various lithological formations
and structural geology.
Our Experience
In the hard rock areas, the porousity and permiability is of secondary nature. The groundwater
occurs in voids, fractures and joints in hard rocks and in the weathered mantle. So the condition
of water reserves changes from place to place. The selection of the exact site of each borewell
or dugwell has to
be made depending upon the merits and demerits of the area under consideration. We have sufficient
experience in demarcating worthy and non-worthy areas, collection of field data and demarcating
the exact spots depending on the interpretation of geophysical data and density of fractures and
joints. We also have experience in discharging the accumulated water by various methods.
Our Staff
The minimum qualification of our staff members is Masters degree in geology, hydrogeology,
geophysics or other fields of science. Many of them have also got a Dcoterate degree by research
in related fields. The staff supervising over borewell drilling work is rich with ample
experience in different regions. Our interpretation of data gathered on site is supported by an
equally competitive team of experts working hard at office level with the help of computers and
other modern aids. So, we assure you the most accurate results.
