Admission to Post Graduate Courses with Scholarship / Assistantship in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Pharmacy at Colleges / Institutes in the country will be open only to those who qualify in GATE. GATE-2000 will be conducted at national basis on Sunday, February 13, 2000.

For appearing in GATE-2000, the candidates should :-
- have obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Pharmacy or Master's degree in Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Application(with Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or in Science with Mathematics) or professional qualification like AMIE(reconosed by UPSC/AICTE as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech) OR
- be in the final year of such programmes OR
- be in the second or higher year of the (Post - B.Sc.) four -year integrated Master's degree programme in Engineering / Technology OR
- be in the fourth or higher year of Five - Year Integrated Master's degree programme in Engineering / Technology.

Important Notes
- Information Brochure and Application forms which are non-transferable, are available from the main branches of State Bank of India at selected cities on payment of (Non-refundable) Registration fee of Rs. 800/- ( Rs. 400/- for SC/ST categories) in cash.
- The candidates are required to submit the pay-in-slip in original with their completed application.
- Information Brochure and forms are also available by post from / at the counter of GATE Office on payment (inclusive of non-refundable Registration fee) of Rs. 800/- (Rs. 400/- for SC/ST categories) only by demand draft drawn in favour of the Institute where candidate stands to register.
