The Internet is the largest and the most disorganised
storehouse of information on Earth. Sites like this (and there are many)
have one purpose - to make sense of the madness, so that anybody looking
for information can get to it fast. Net access is still limited in many
parts of the world, and even when it is not - our time and money are precious.
Doctors and medical students are among
the busiest people in the world, and they are not always best known for
their computer or Net savvy. The aim of this site is to provide an easy
access to some of the best sources of medical information on the Net, so
that everybody can assimilate what the Net offers.
We've tried to be as complete as possible
(within ourmeans) but that perhaps is asking for too much. The focus on
India reflects our best (but not very satisfying) efforts to look for informative
medical websites from my country. We're still searching, and weI will be
updating this site on a regular basis, so be on the lookout for changes.
We are medical students who started a
tentative search and found it hard to stop. If you've found it useful and
have similar interests - join us, you'll be most welcome. Write to
us at i_mallick@hotmail.com
and tell me what you felt about this site and share any ideas that you
might have.
