ST. THOMAS - THE FOUNDER OF CHRISTIANITY IN INDIA

St. Thomas, an Apostle of Jesus Christ came to Kerala in 52 A.D., even before Christianity spread in Rome and other European regions, and founded Christianity here. His folloers were known as St. Thomas Christians of Malankara till the period where, at first the Syrian orthodox and then the Roman Catholic Bishops ruled them . After the arrival of Europeans, Christianity spread to the other regions of India, and now there are hundreds of Christian Churches exist in India. St. Thomas was killed and buried at Madras. The seven churches built by him are existing in Kerala.
