The greening of a steelscape...
Jamshedpur never fails to capture the imagination of the visitors with its intriguing steel sculptures, verdant beauty, blossoming colours and magnificent illuminations. It is a city with hundreds of acres of parks and gardens, manicured and maintained to perfection. A process, vitalised by continuous regeneration and renewal.
Sounds of laughter mingle with splashes of colour every evening at the Russi Modi Park.
Rolling greens provide the perfect link between work and leisure.
Its breathtakingly beautiful Moghal Garden with its coloured fountains attracts evening visitors by the hundreds. The Park's horticultural garden is renowned for the rose hybrids it has developed and christened with intriguing names like 'Taxi ' and 'Pioneering Pilot ' . Altogether over 1000 varieties of Indian roses are to be found here.
The environment-friendly-city...
Long before environment became the cause celebre and 'ecosystem' a buzzword, Jamshedpur has been planting trees, creating a milieu where industry and environments co-exist in harmony.
Though much has been accomplished, much more remains to be done. Because there is only one way that Jamshedpur can pass the gift of the Founder to its children - bequeath them a Steel City that remains evergreen.
The harmonious balance between nature and industry is consciously maintained in the city

It is a city that has proved that the progress of enterprise, the welfare of the people and the health of the environment are all inextricably linked. Today, greenery is part of the Works and the cityscape. But it is more than greenery that has made Jamshedpur an environment friendly city. Recycling plants save on water and new treatment plants keep the rivers sparkling. Efforts are made to raise consciousness and concern for the environment among residents. And, at the centre of it all, the new Environment Management Division oversees all these activities, in keeping with the city's sustainable development
A gift to the citizens of Jamshedpur by Tata Steel on the occasion of its golden jubilee in 1958, the 237.75 acre Jubilee Park modeled after the Brindavan Gardens in Mysore, is considered the green heart of the city.

Jamshedpur, albeit an industrial town, has blue skies, clean air and vast green expanses. Tata Steel's Environmental Management continuously monitors all parameters of pollution and evolves measures to combat threats to our environment.
New lungs are added every year to re-emphasize the city's commitment to a cleaner and greener Jamshedpur. Tree plantation is thus an ongoing activity that recently found remarkable expression through the Green Millenium Countdown. This unique programme will ensure that a million additional healthy trees herald the dawn of the next millenium.
Tata Steel, through its Public Health Department Department collects approximately 1 lac tonnes of solid waste annually, disposing off it efficiently and thus making a critical contribution to the cleanliness of the Steel City.
