| ... cradled and nursed in the vivid imaginaton of one towering individual, Jamshetji Nusserwanji Tata. Jamshetji saw the city in his mind's eye as clearly as he saw the stee plant. The grand conceptualiser, however, did not live to see the steel plant or a single tree of his beloved dream city take root. But the guidelines he left behind for the future, provided a great foundation for the city to grow and flourish for the good of all. And flourish it did. A few years later, the then Viceroy, Lord Chelmsford, christened the city after him, in tribute.
