DIETARY GUIDELINES FOR PATIENTS OF KIDNEY STONES
Dietary restriction of calcium and oxalates (oxalic acid)
has been advocated. Studies in the recent past have questioned the need to
restrict calcium intake.
In the confusion that prevails a few practical guidelines are given. The
guidelines get relaxed (changed when the stone is removed from the body.[These
guidelines apply so long as the stone is in the body.]
DON’T’S

Tomatoes.
- Less
of milk and milk products.
- Less
of meat and poultry.
- No
Spinach.
- Less
of Chocolates.
DO’S
PLENTY OF WATER
The daily requirement will vary with the local climatic conditions. In general
at least 3 liters of water every day. The best guide being that the urine should
be colorless all the time. Yes this
may getting up one to two times in the night.
