Madhuri ties the knot

It’s official now. The Dhak Dhak girl of Bollywood, Madhuri Dixit, has
found her life-partner. Yes, Madhuri has tied the knot with the
Los Angeles-based surgeon, Sriram Nene. According to reports, Madhuri
met her beau at her US-based brother Ajit Dixit’s house about a month ago
. This ends all speculation about Madhuri’s frequent visits to the US. The
actress’s secretary, Rakesh Nath ‘Rikku’, has confirmed the news. He
has said that Madhuri will continue to work but only on “select projects”.

A Debut with Aamir

Javed Akhtar's son Farhan has signed Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay
Khanna for his directorial debut. Reportedly Farhan approached Aamir simply
as a prospective director with a promising script, without telling him he was Javed
Akhtar's son. And Aamir agreed, looking at the promise of the youn debutante. If
Farhan has inherited talent, from such famous parents, then his efforts should
surely pushhim up in his debut.

India’s desi fashion designers seem to have caught the foreign film
makers’ fancy. A Mumbai based fashion designer has been selected to
design clothes for Hollywood star Nicole Kidman in her next film. First it was
Manish Malhotra who worked for Michael Jackson, then JJ Vallaya for
Shekhar Kapur's Elizabeth duo, Cate Blanchett and Joseph Fiennes. The
latest to go westward is Ashley Rebello who has been called upon to
extend his services to none other than Nicole Kidman, heroine of Eyes
Wide Shut and wife of Tom Cruise. Mumbai-based Rebello has been
signed up by director Baz Luhrmann to design for Kidman in his
forthcoming French film, Rouge Voluwand. The film, which casts Nicole as
an 18th century Indian prostitute, will have the actress sporting backless
cholis, skirts, dupattas and other Indian ethnic wear.

Kapoor Dynamo

Pushing her way back up the charts, this Bollywood sensation
springs surprises one after another. After the mega success of
Haseena Maan Jayegi and Biwi No 1, Karisma is thrilled about her
first stint with the Barjatya's in Hum Saath Saath Hain. Paired
opposite the equally sexy Saif Ali Khan, Karisma is making sure
that everyrole of hers is challenging and meaningful. After
Silsila Hai Pyar Ka didn't do well, Karisma admits to being let
down by the outcome, especially since she had liked the script
verymuch and thought the story to sensitive and sweet." We
seemed to have lost track of the basic storyline somehow,"she
said. Recently Karisma has signed Shyam Benegal's next, Zubaida
, in whichshe has been paired alongside the redoubtable Manoj
Bajpai "I have been waiting for such an offer since a long time,"
she claims," Money was never a criterion, so why not ?"
.Another film she's awaiting is Fida where she is cast opposite
Hrithik Roshan and Jaya Bachchan. Currently she's waiting the
release of Jaanwar opposite Akshay Kumar and Hum To Mohabbat
Karega. So with her hands full, Karisma isn't about to go on a diet as
far as her roles are concerned, though ideally she sets four releases in
a year as a healthy workwoman like average. She's all excited for kid
sister Kareena's debut and is proud n protective of her sister's talent. "
She aint a Kapoor girl for nothing!" states Karisma.

'Mohabbetein' on the roll

Producer Yash Chopra and writer-director Aditya Chopra completed the
first schedule of Mohbbatein recently. Music directors Jatin-Lalit have composed
five of the six songs. The film stars include Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh
Khan and Aishwarya Rai. Uday Chopra, Yash's younger son makes
his debut as an actor.

'Yeh Hai Jalwa'

Producer-director Ketan Desai shot action and dramatic scenes
for his upcoming film Yeh Hai Jalwa in Bombay recently.
The scenes werefilmed on Salman Khan, Raveen Tandon, Kareena
Kapoor, Kashmira Shah and Armaan Kohlli. The film also stars
Sanjay Dutt, Anupam Kher and Paresh Rawal in key roles.
The film has its story by Ikram Akhtar, screenplay by Robin
Bhatt, dialogue by Rumi Jaffrey, cinematography by Thomas
Xavier, music by Himesh Reshammiya and action by Mahendra Verma.

Pair No. 1

The million-dollar question is looming in the air. Is there a rift between
Karisma and Govinda that they are no longer working in films together?
Is it the end of the road of the hot pair, who launched several hits
together? "Rift?," says Lolo, stifling an obvious grin, "There is no rift
at all and Chi Chi and I are very fond of each other," she says. She
adds that the threesome of David Dhawan, Govinda and herself have
had a record number of hits together, so they share a special bond. "
Besides I'm looking forward to my next release with him - Shikari
- thriller, Watch out for him in it, he has a very unique role," she claims.
