Information for Breeder

Introduction
For breeding the initial consideration is space. It is true that guppies are easy to breed compared to other fishes. Guppies are mainly bred for quantity and color is one of the reasons being so popular. The essential principles to be followed in breeding are to have a natural Eco-system that is a nature setting of environment for breeding of guppies. Since you should remember that any animal in captivity will lead to low breeding rate. 

Some breeding techniques
-At first, one or two stain are selected in that 5 females and 2 males in each stains. 

-10 gallon is taken and one-teaspoon non-iodized salt per gallon is added and a tank corner filter preferred (with activated carbon). 

-Then the selected stains are added to it, the gestation period is 18 to 21 days 

-Feedings are 4 / 5 times a day baby brain shrimp is feed for little ones and for the adult beef heart with garlic paste, home prepared food (egg + wheat + edible yeast), beef liver minced with agar agar and spirulina is added throughout guppies life cycle. 

To breed a healthy stain it is advised to cross the same stain leaving a month gap to the same stain. It is advised to follow Mendel's Principles.
