THE ASANAS.

There are many different yoga postures(asanas)-Indian text mentions 840,000! asanas. The postures are anatomically & physiolocically sound. They are guides to various movements attainable by human body.

The posture are grouped according to the postioning of the body- standing, sitting , twisting ,prone , supine , inverted & balancing.They incorporate slow & quik motion & teach concentration dynamism & stillnes.They have important therapeutic effects,since the entire organic structure is invigorated & toned by the practise of the postures.Muscle tone is automatically improved,thus benefiting from increasing health , stamina & agility.They even have direct balancing effect on certain pshycological disorders.

The basic asanas for preliminary student have been mentioned.More asanas,ten week course for better health will be shortly incorporated to the section.

CAUTIONS:

The course is not intended for those suffering from:

• cancer or benign tumours
• detachted retina
• diabetes
• epilepsy
• high blood pressure
• multiple sclerosis
• pregnancy
• recent-post operative conditions

in such cases,please seek the advice of an experinced teacher.

It is advisable for new yoga students to practise asanas under expert's guidance.
