		V A S U M A T H I - A Multi-hued Artiste
	Right from a very young age, Vasumathi has always been deeply inclined towards the arts. Vasumathi has with all zeal and devotion made herself proficient in two of India's finest cultural strongholds, namely Carnatic Classical Music and Bharata Natyam Dance. Being a South Indian and coming from a family with an intense musical background, Vasumathi was initiated into this art at a very young age by her mother late Smt. Padma Seshadri, who was an accomplished singer. Subsequent to the initial grooming from her mother, Vasumathi learnt Carnatic Music from Smt. T. R. Balamani in Bombay. Vasumathi has now been singing for more than two decades. She has toured extensively in Europe and Asia Pacific countries and has given several performances and lecture-demonstrations in Franance, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Singapore and Thailand. Vasumathi is a graded artiste of the All India Radio, one of India's strongest upholders of classical music. Vasumathi is a receipent of the Junior Fellowship for Music from the Ministry of Human Resources & Development, Government of India, awarded to outstanding young artistes. Vasumathi was also awarded the title "Sur-Mani" for music by the Sur-Singar Samsad, Mumbai. Vasumathi has been involved in various research work on music and dance and often she presents papers in various national & international music/dance seminars/conferences. Besides music, Vasumathi is also a talented dancer of Bharata Natyam. She has been pursuing it for more than two decades under the able guidence of one of India's most revered and celebrated masters in the field - Kalaimamani Guru Sri. T. K. Mahalingam Pillai, of Sri. Rajarajeswari Bharata Natya Kala Mandir, Bombay. Vasumath is an innovative choreographer in the field of dance and has produced and presented programmes like "Leela Gopalam", "Darbari Darshan", apart from several other thematic productions. The Sur-Singar Samsad awarded the title of "Singara-Mani" for her proficiency in dance to Vasumathi. Vasumathi's institute - SuviBadra Institute of Indian Art & Culture is dedicated to enhance and improve the awareness of Carnatic Music and Bharatanatyam dance. Besides, SuviBadra produces several cultural based programmes for the Radio and Television. This Carnatic Webring site is owned by Vasumathi Badrinathan.
