OTHER ACTIVITIES
STUDY TOURS
Study tours are arranged by the Department
for B.L.I.Sc. and M.L.I.Sc. students which includes visiting libraries
in and outside Mumbai. In Mumbai all types of prominent libraries are visited
viz. Library of Asiatic society, BARC, BCL, IGIDR, IIT, Rajabai Tower Library,
TIFR, etc. Outside Mumbai places like Ahmedabad, Baroda, Delhi, Pune have
been visited for further exposure to different kinds of libraries and presentation
of the study tour is also carried out.
SEMINARS
Several seminars are arranged out as
part of the academic exercise.
REFRESHER COURSE/WORKSHOPS
Occassionaly Department conducts Refresher
Courses / Workshops for the College librarians.

In the year 1996 Department of Library
Science conducted first refresher course on the theme "Preparing
for National Library Network".

In the year January 1997, second refresher
course on the theme "Towards Library Networking" was conducted.

In the same year in september 1997
the third refresher course on the theme "Academic Libraries for the
21st Century" was conducted by the Department of Library Science.

In the year 1999, fourth refresher
course on the theme "Re-engineering College Libraries for the 21st
Century" was conducted.
