FACULTY
The year 1964 was very important in
the history of the Department because this year the Department of Library
Science was established as an entity with the positions of teaching and
non-teaching staff. The Professor and Head, a Reader and a Lecturer were
dual posts in that they were also to work as Librarian, Deputy Librarian
and Assistant Librarian respectively in the University Library. One post
of a Lecturer and Reader exclusively for teaching was also created. Outside
experts are also invited by the Department as visiting faculties to enrich
the knowledge of students by rendering lectures and thereby providing them
with their invaluable experiences.
