AWARDS RECEIVED

National Level Science Talent Scholarship: received in 1992 and 1994 from Universal Trust, Trivandrum. In 1992, I secured rank 42 from amongst 14707 candidates.
One of the 20 awardees of the Jr. Science Talent Scholarship of the Government of Delhi.
All India Talent Scholarship, 1993 of the Children’s Education Trust of India.
National Mathematics Olympiad: received merit awards in 1992 and 1994.
21 Awards for Academic Excellence from Modern School, New Delhi.
Achievement of a First Division in each of the three years of B.Com. (Hons.) in Delhi University, with 72.3% in Part III.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Dramatics: Winner of first prize at university level festival of Kamala Nehru College , University of Delhi; Winner of Founder’s Award for Dramatics, Modern School, New Delhi.
Active participant in Debates, group discussions and symposia at school as well as at University level. Winner of several best speaker awards, including 2nd Prize for Group Discussion at Bliss Point ’98, the university level Economics festival of Sri Venkateswara College.
Badminton: represented school at Zonal Meet as Captain of the school team and was awarded Gold Medal.
Shotput: Gold Medal at Zonal Meet, 1993-94.
Advertising: First Prize at Eclipse ’98, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce and also at Mr. Businace ’96, Jamia Millia Islamia.
Management Role-Playing : was adjudged Mr. Businace ‘ 96 at Jamia Millia Islamia.

POSITIONS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Founder and Director of The Commerce Society, Sri Venkateswara College. Organised various intra-college and inter-university events under its aegis, prominent amongst them being Comquest’98.
I helped organise various inter-school and inter-house extracurricular events and competitions such as Modquiz ’93, as House Captain of Bharat House at Modern School. During my captaincy, the House won the Founder’s Day Shield for Academic Excellence.
Active member of the External Relations Cell of Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

As part of the activities of the National Literacy Mission, I helped in making 2 persons literate.
I have taken part in and also helped in organising some of the health awareness programs of the Heart Care Foundation of India

OTHER INTERESTS

I am a voracious reader of both fact and English fiction, though it is humour and comedy that I enjoy the most. My favourite author is Sir P. G. Wodehouse..
I listen to transcendental and psychedelic music, as a means of relaxation and relieving stress.
I swim regularly, either to relax or to exercise.
